About PechaKucha

Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of “chit chat”, it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: each presenter shows 20 images for 20 seconds each – a 6 minute and 40 second dose of ideas before the next presenter is up. It’s a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.

PechaKucha Night was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. It has grown into a global event held in 2000 cities around the world, inspiring creatives worldwide.

About PechaKucha Vancouver

In Vancouver, PechaKucha Night is a fun and informal hour and a half of culture, ideas, creativity, passion and opinions.

PechaKucha Vancouver was started by Cause+Affect and it is currently curated and produced by Becki Chan from Open Format Arts & Culture. Big love to Steven, Jane and the Cause+Affect staff.
