The Coasties is a newly established awards event, created in response to the feeling that Vancouver’s advertising and design industry has been under-served locally and under-represented on the global stage.
Designed to celebrate the diverse and innovative creative work emerging from the city’s agencies, studios, and freelancers, The Coasties also serves as a reason to bring the industry together for a night of recognition and celebration.
This is not a traditional, formal awards show—expect less black tie and more dance floor. The Hollywood Theatre was chosen as the ideal venue to match the event’s energetic and social atmosphere. Whether attendees are submitting their work for an award or simply looking to connect with others in the industry, the night promises to be an unforgettable experience.

What time is the event?
The event will run 6pm until 11pm including opening reception and after-party.
What is the event agenda?
There will be an emcee to host the evening which will include a short, theatre-seated awards presentation(2 x 45-minute awards segments). Winning work will be shown on-screen and winners will have the opportunity for a short acceptance speech.
Will there be food and drinks available?
There will be a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres served throughout the evening.
Is there parking available?
The Hollywood Theatre has no designated venue parking, but there is metered street parking available along West Broadway and the vicinity of the venue.
Is the Hollywood Theatre wheel-chair accessible friendly?
Yes! The street-level main floor of the Hollywood Theatre is wheelchair accessible. Please email the venue in advance and they will designate an area to ensure visibility.
Is smoking or vaping allowed?
Hollywood Theatre is a non-smoking venue. Smoking is not permitted inside or outside in front of the theatre.
