What it is:
Vancouver Social Design Sesh unites creative minds from the digital industry in a welcoming and enjoyable environment. It aims to inspire creativity while placing significant value on socializing, networking, and mutual learning. All attendees MUST bring their own materials/tech for creating – think of it as an art jam! It’s not just for networking; it’s a chance for designers to get feedback on designs or craft new portfolio pieces!
Who it is For:
This gathering is perfect for individuals who connect with the creative tech scene – graphic designers, photographers, photo editors, animators, web designers, UI/UX wizards, and the like. If you’re unsure whether this is your vibe, feel free to reach out and ask questions.
What Happens at These Gatherings:
- Every second Sunday of the month, three hours is dedicated to creating digitally together based on a chosen theme. The design theme for March is yet to be chosen!
- This is a laid-back event; attendees can work on the prompt or other projects. However, always remember that this is a SOCIAL event! Share your ideas, wins, and struggles, and show support for your fellow creatives. Capacity is limited to 25!
What to Bring:
Bring your laptops, tablets, sketchbooks, or anything else you need to create! Although the venue has plenty of outlets, it’s advisable to bring fully charged devices. Also, come with an idea or two for the jam!
Venue Etiquette:
Please avoid bringing outside food or drinks. The venue boasts an amazing kitchen, a fully stocked bar, and a classic Italian espresso machine. Remember to tip your server; Sprezzatura has a fantastic team!
Cost Breakdown:
While the ultimate goal is for this gathering to be free someday, the current reality is that the costs of organizing and platform fees need to be covered. If you’d like to attend but require financial assistance, please reach out to the organizer.
