About PechaKucha
Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of “chit chat”, it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: each presenter shows 20 images for 20 seconds each – a 6 minute and 40 second dose of ideas before the next presenter is up. It’s a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.
PechaKucha Night was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. It has grown into a global event held in 1300 cities around the world, inspiring creatives worldwide.
PechaKucha Night is for content and not profit. Visit PechaKucha HQ to learn more about this global network.
About PechaKucha
In Vancouver, PechaKucha Night is a fun and informal hour and a half of culture, ideas, creativity, passion and opinions.
PechaKucha Vancouver was started by Cause+Affect and it is currently organized and produced by Open Format Arts & Culture. Big love to Steven, Jane and the Cause+Affect staff.
