Museum of Personal Failure exhibition turns defeat into triumph in Vancouver

Burnaby resident Eyvan Collins has curated an exhibition at Vancouver’s Kingsgate Mall featuring submitted works representing people’s failures and mistakes.

The exhibition runs from Jan. 24 to Feb. 3 at Kingsgate Mall

The Museum of Personal Failure is running at Kingsgate Mall from Jan. 24 to Feb. 3, showcasing everything from broken knives and spilled paint, to rejected love letters and even a wedding dress of a past marriage. Curated by Eyvan Collins, this exhibit turns heartbreaks, missteps, and “oops” moments into something meaningful — and sometimes even beautiful.

Visitors can check out:

  • The Wall of Reject featuring firing notices and rejection letters

  • Threads of Innocence, a wedding dress in a moving box symbolizing moving on

  • Blurry photos, failed art projects, and six-track albums that didn’t quite hit the mark

The exhibit shows that failure isn’t the end — it’s a part of the process, a step forward, and sometimes even a reason to laugh, reflect, or get inspired.

If you’ve ever felt like you’ve messed up or come up short, this is the place to see that you’re definitely not alone.

📍 Where: Kingsgate Mall, Vancouver
📅 When: Jan. 24 – Feb. 3
💡 Why go: To celebrate failure, resilience, and maybe even leave with a bit of hope
