Join Christopher Rouleau for a fun and creative event at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, where participants can learn the art of sign painting from a skilled lettering artist.
This full-day workshop covers the fundamentals of traditional sign painting, including best practices and tools of the trade. Participants will have the chance to paint up to four styles of alphabet using water-based paint, with a demonstration on using professional enamel paint. All materials are provided, and attendees will leave with their own set of brushes and a 10-page sign painting workbook.
Christopher Rouleau, an independent graphic designer and lettering artist based in Toronto, is also a public speaker, lettering instructor, and published author. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Calgary and studied at the Alberta College of Art & Design. Rouleau has received the Communication Arts Award of Excellence in Typography and teaches on the online tutorial platform Domestika.
