Amanda Klassen – Industrial Designer
Inspired by another Creative Pulse community member, Amanda Klassen took on the Creative Pulse 30-Day Creative Cross-Training Challenge on patterns. She has now done the challenge twice in three months—while working full-time. The result is two books about her process, and three experimental products. Amanda’s experience proves that a little bit each day goes a long way–and her presentation will demonstrate exactly that.
James Thomson – Art Director + UI/UX Designer
James is the Senior Art Director at Vision Critical and a part-time educator at BrainStation Academy. When he’s not in the office or the classroom, James can be found working on various side-projects. He will show one such project that showcases two of his biggest passions: beer and illustration! Learn about what inspired the project, the challenges that he faced and the tools he uses to keep it fresh.
Harry Olson, James Munns, Matej Rodela – Founders of 600SQ
600SQ is a multidisciplinary design studio focusing on product design, fabrication and communication.
Harry, Matej, and James build furniture and products that fit the modern day living space. Furniture that solves problems and makes life easier. They have recently been accepted to IDS Vancouver’s Prototype Exhibition coming September 28th.
600SQ will share their methods for researching how people in urban areas use furniture. This research allows them to make functional furniture that people love.
