This session covers all aspects of RGD’s Certification Process, including eligibility, application submission, and preparation for the Online Test and Portfolio Interview. The session will also highlight the value of undergoing certification, the benefits of membership, and provide answers to any questions.
Founded by the Ontario Government to accredit—now often referred to as certify—graphic designers, RGD is the only graphic design association in North America with government legislation and stands as the largest graphic design association in Canada.
As a non-profit, RGD is dedicated to fostering cooperation, communication, and community within the graphic design industry. RGD offers programs that educate, inform, and support design practitioners, managers, educators, and students, advocating for designers as essential partners to business, government, and the non-profit sector.

The Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD) is Canada’s largest professional association for graphic designers. The association’s membership of more than 4,000 people includes firm owners, freelancers, managers, in-house designers, educators and students.
Members work in the design disciplines engaged in developing effective communications, including editorial design, motion design, brand design, environmental design, UX design and information design.
The RGD runs numerous industry events and initiatives, including DesignThinkers, Canada’s largest annual conference for graphic designers; Creative Earners, Canada’s comprehensive salary report for creatives; awards programs for branding, design educators, emerging designers, in-house design, social good design and students, and much more.
