About the Event
AI is rapidly changing UX and product design. Jerome Valdez has been playing with tons of new tools to cut through the hype and see what actually delivers. This workshop is the backstage pass to everything he has discovered so far.
What to Expect
Over the past several months, Jerome has been using AI tools in his own UX and Product Design process. He has tried Bolt, Cursor, Windsurf, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and more (but these days he’s mostly in Claude Code). In this session, he will walk through the tips and tactics that have worked for him and share where he has hit friction, especially around prototyping and early-stage ideation. Think of it as a guided show-and-tell: informal, practical, and focused on real-world workflows.
For those curious to try things out themselves, laptops are welcome (you might also find it handy to get a nice close look at the screenshare he’ll have running via Google Meet). Otherwise, attendees can simply follow along on the big screen. The session will provide opportunities to ask questions, dig into the tools, and explore ideas together with the group.

Jerome Valdez is a seasoned UX design leader with over 20 years of industry experience and over 10 years of academic instruction (2009–2020), uniquely positioned at the intersection of cutting-edge technology practice and design education. Currently serving as Head of Product Design at Plotly, a leading data visualization and analytics company, Jerome combines extensive hands-on industry expertise with a proven track record of making complex design concepts accessible to learners and professionals alike.
His career spans the evolution of digital design from early web development to current AI-enhanced UX workflows, providing him with both historical perspective and forward-thinking innovation.
